Challenging environment reflected in finances

Waikato Regional Airport Ltd (WRAL) says the challenging travel and tourism environment over the past 12 months is reflected in its annual financial results. WRAL has reported a pre-tax profit of $3.6 million, down from $18.6m in 2023.Land sales returned a gross margin of $2.8 million to the Group, significantly down from the $10.1 million in land profits the previous year. Hamilton Airport goes international again

Champagne corks are popping across the Waikato today with confirmation that direct flights between Hamilton Airport and Australia are back.Jetstar, a subsidiary of Qantas, has announced it will offer three return flights per week between Hamilton and the Gold Coast and four return flights per week between Hamilton and Sydney. Solar switched on at Hamilton Airport

Hamilton Airport has become the first airport in New Zealand to install and commission its own solar energy farm.The 5,000sqm, $1.5 million operation was switched on in early November after a seven-month project led by Renewable Generation Development Limited.
